Nigerian celebrities have succeeded in hiding their relationships and their statuses from the public. It is understood that the action is geared towards avoiding unnecessary drama from the public in order to retain professionalism. One can only hope they can keep up with this. However, while most of them have kept the public guessing, we can most safely say some of these celebrities have tied the nuptial knot this year.
The year 2017 has been a very eventful one for our Nigerian celebrities who got married to their partners. All the paparazzi and excitement that trails celebrity weddings kept us hooked on some of them as we faithfully kept watch for the latest photos from their wedding.
We couldn’t help but be happy for these celebrities as they had their big day with their better halves with so much love from the couples to themselves, from their colleagues and of course, from their fans as well who were rooting for their love and wedding.
In no particular order…here are Nigerian celebrity weddings of 2017 we won’t be forgetting in a hurry…
- Yvonne Jegede and Olakunle Fawole
Nollywood actress, Yvonne Jegeda got hitched to her heartthrob, singer, Olakunle Fawole popularly known as Abounce. The joy of tying the knot was obvious for this happy couple who had a two in one wedding; a beautiful traditional wedding with family and friends and a simple court wedding
Beauty queen turn pilot and nurse, Powede was a sight for sore eyes looking resplendent as she said her wedding vows to her beau, Ikenna Nelly Awujo. With a traditional ceremony in September, she had a beautiful white wedding in that same month. Powede and her groom were the perfect replica of a princess and her prince charming.
- Stephanie Coker and Olumide Adenirokun
Top Media girl, Stephanie Coker had the creme de la creme of Lagos turned up for her trendy traditional wedding to her Prince charming, Olumide Adenirokun in 2016. Then it was a count down to her destination wedding which took place in Greece this year. Her bespoke outfits for the fairy-tale ceremony showed off her daring taste in fashion as always.
- Oristefemi and Nabila
Nigerian musician Oritsefemi Majemite Ekele known as Oritsefemi also walked down the aisle with his beautiful wife Nabila this year 2017. The event which kick-started with the traditional marriage which held in the early hours of the day followed by the colourful white wedding in Lagos, had a host of Celebrities in attendance.
- Daniel K Daniel and Tina
Nollywood actor, Daniel K Daniel and his beauty blogger heartthrob, Tina also tied the knot in a beautiful traditional and white wedding ceremony this year. They were surrounded by friends and family members as they finally promised each other forever.
- Adesua Etomi and Banky W
While we are still recovering from the effect of what many have now termed ‘the wedding of the year. Nollywood sweetheart, Adesua Etomi and her Prince in shining armour, Banky W first broke the internet back in May after announcing their engagement with a photo. It was one of the most trending events of the year. It was a stand still for social media for both their traditional wedding and white destination wedding in South Africa.
