Here are the three that we're predicting will be huge come spring, and that you can channel right now...
There is more than one way to accessorize your
hair
At Rochas,
hairstylist Anthony Turner twisted and tied fabric into loose, knotted buns,
while hairstylist Sam McKnight encased low ponytails in perspex tubes at Chanel
and Tomohiro Ohashi wrapped them in silk scarves at Lanvin.
And that’s before we
even discuss the crystal lined partings at Dries van Noten. Whichever way you
choose, it’s safe to say hair accessories aren’t going anywhere next season, so
you might as well embrace the trend now.
Skin should look like skin
For most people that’s a
very obvious statement, of course skin will look like skin. But so often on the
catwalk it’s treated to lashings of highlighter to give it a surreal
illumination, or layers of gloss to provide a sweaty, high-shine finish.
Perhaps in retaliation to the hyper-real complexions seen across social media,
for spring/summer 2018 make-up artists have declared that it’s about healthy,
natural-looking skin - the kind we all want to wake up with.
If you’re not
blessed with a healthy glow naturally, tinted moisturiser will be your best
friend and was used backstage by make-up artist extraordinaire Pat McGrath at
many of the shows. For those who want to even out skin tone and be left with a
dewy finish, look to Bobbi
Brown's classic Tinted Moisturizer, £29.50. If you prefer a fuller coverage, try IT
Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+, £30.
Brush up your brows
Brows have long since
been championed for their ability to frame your face and enhance your bone
structure. Unsurprisingly, strong brows were seen across the catwalks at Paris
Fashion Week to compliment the nude skin trend. Natural-looking, fuller brows
were brushed up at Altuzarra, Saint Laurent and TK to name just a few.
Clear brow gel or a
healthy helping of Vaseline and an old mascara wand will do the trick. If your
brows need a little extra boost, invest in Benefit's
Gimme Brow, £20.
