6 Reasons Why It's Actually Kinda Awesome to Be Single During the Holidays

Look, we've all been in the situation where it feels like everyone else is coupled up, making out under a wool blanket, going on dates, and picking out stuffs together.
But the thing is, those people are actually missing out on some rad things that can only happen if you're single during the holidays. Just because you’re not in a relationship doesn’t mean you can’t live your best life toward the end of the year. Here, a few things to keep in mind when you've got no stocking to stuff but your own:

1. You don’t have to agonize over finding the perfect gift, unless it’s for your family members (or yourself—and you 100 percent deserve to spend your holiday bonus on yourself this year) or better still on thanksgiving or hasn't the Lord been good to you?

2. You can spend your time binge-watching your parents' cable, napping, and doing whatever the hell else you want. Because singledom = complete freedom they say. that's if you agree.

3. There’s no compromise in plans or travel. You can spend the entire holiday with just your family and friends (if that’s what you’re into). Or you can even go on a trip by yourself...which sounds kind of awesome if you ask me.

4. It’s a great time to reflect on what you want (and what you don’t want) out of a relationship in line with Gods standards . If all your friends are coupled up, you can learn a lot from their complaints and misery.

5. YOU’LL HAVE AMPLE TIME TO TALK ABOUT YOURSELF, YOUR CAREER, AND YOUR AWESOME SIDE PROJECTS WHEN YOUR RELATIVES INEVITABLY ASK YOU ABOUT YOUR RELATIONSHIP STATUS—AND THAT SOUNDS VERY COOL AND FEMINIST.

6. Your fellow single people are out and about and ready to mingle.
Because they all know that, even if you’re alone during the holidays, you don’t necessarily have to be! Jingle bells, indeed.
